About Hire Local 901
Hire Local is a partnership of the Memphis Medical District Collaborative (MMDC), participating anchor institutions, and local workforce providers in order to connect training, education, and employment opportunities to residents in and around the Memphis Medical District.
- Our Goal: Implement training programs that identify, train and fast-track talented local residents into jobs where there is: a clear career pathway, a livable wage, and a growing career field.
- Why Hire Local? Have you ever completed a training program but still couldn’t find a job? At Hire Local, training is employer-driven, based on current and projected hiring demand. The training is then customized for each class so residents graduate knowing the expectations of the potential employer. We take the guesswork out of the hiring process and help residents build skills they can put to work right away.
In order to apply to Hire Local, applicants need to meet the following criteria:
- Eligible to work in US
- Over 18 years of age
- Priority consideration is given to residents within the target Hire Local Focus Area
- Any additional requirements will vary based on the training class
